Cross My Heart

As most of you already know, I had to put my half Maltese, half Shi Ttzu baby, Coco, to sleep last Saturday. She was only 2 & a half years old and suffered from liver failure. It was the most difficult decision I have had to make yet. She was the best birthday gift I could’ve asked for and I hand-picked her myself at the Puppy Swap Meet on February 21st, 2010. Though she was diagnosed with a dysfunctional liver at only three months old, she lived a very happy life with an affectionate, playful, friendly, and sassy personality. Coco left lasting impressions on everyone she met and brought smiles to everyone’s faces, even when she was mischievous. I miss my fluffball terribly, especially at night, since her warm little body is no longer snuggled against mine but day by day, I remind myself to find peace in knowing that I gave her everything I could and she was loved tremendously… RIP, baby.
To those of you who offered your sympathies and kind words through texts, phone calls, Facebook comments, and Instagram comments, thank you for your love and support. I truly appreciate it. ❤
So, now, in spite of the [sometimes overwhelming] sadness I may feel, I am consciously making an effort to do more things that make me happy than I normally would, just to keep busy. Hopefully my next outfit post will show that I’ve gained back a little more zest for life, as well as more thirst for color and style. :)
